First ride in the rain......not sure about these tyres!

So, finally got the first bike (a few weeks ago now). A 2003 (2004) GSX250. Getting on really well with it and its real easy to ride. Not the fastest I know but just seems to suit what I wanted from a bike. Strange I never considered one of these until I took one for a test ride. Anyway, the tyres. Riding around on the dry roads on a sunny weekend just loving being out there I've had a ball. However, I did get a strange feeling off the back tyre now and again. So, yesterday I ride to work in the rain for the first time. All good, taking it easy until the back starts to fish tail. This was a seemingly flat road and I was avoiding the road markings. Riding home, in the dark this time taking it really slow and the same thing happens. Tread seems fine, pressure ok. So could this be the tyres???

Very likely a poor quality tyre. Very common on the 'learner' bikes. Why do people put crap on their rims when their lives depend on such a small contact patch?
Highly recommend you fit Pirelli Sport Demon or Bridgestone BT45. You will get good mileage and they won't give you any nasty surprises by letting go too easily.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

i can attest to the tyre thing, having fitted demon's on my sons bike which transformed the handling substantially,

Looks like I'll go and get me some Pirelli's. The ones on the bike at the moment are IRC's. How much should Demons set you back?
