Doesn't say he hit 165, max. Says he rode at 'more than' 165.

    Still.

    He sucks.

Only very bad men do runners with the missus on the back.

And only particularly bad riders do failed runners with the missus on the back!

Not that bad, really, if the ticket was going to take him over 100 points. Also, if he was clocked at 139, he wouldn't have known whether they'd got him at 140 or over, meaning that he was juggling an instant roadside suspension in the risk analysis, too.

Now, I hate to point this out, but $600 and three months versus $1560 and six months? If he hadn't be a totally useless cunt, he'd probably have had a better than 50% chance of getting away, making the runner a pretty good bet.

    But.

Not with the missus on the back.

I tend to agree. And the roads they are talking about are fairly open from what I remember, if it is the area I am thinking of. Cant condone doing a runner but if there is space.................... people buy lotto tickets with lower odds of winning.

No matter how fast the bike, it's never going to out pace a radio.

One would imagine that a wise (if lawless) rider would take such matters into consideration when making the decision to run from the fuzz.

The geography and topology of the road network in the immediate area (and familiarity therewith) would, one imagines, be key factors in such a decision.

200kph along a main state highway is the canonical dumb-arse way to do a runner. The cops know where you are, and you're not going any faster than their Commodes can.

Then again, the best advice is simply to keep one's riding legal on roads that the Highway Patrol take an interest in.

    Which reminds me,

This one time, at band camp.........

Mrs C and I were travelling up north. Got just past vinegar Hill and Mr Tosser shows up in a piece of shit car. Really dodgey pass coming past us which very nearly resulted in a head on with a minivan. Then he drove between 80-110km/hr swerving all over the road. A couple of times I was already on the brakes cause I thought he was heading for a head on or off the road so I *555'ed him. Police took details and asked if shen a patrol shows up would we stop and identify the car. No problem.

On the OTHER SIDE of TAIHAPE (good 30km) we lost the car due to not wanting to pass where he was (before this we never exceeded 100km.hr and although he was making dodgey passes he never actually got away) he did evade us. Police didnt show up in time and he got away.

Now this was over half an hour without exceeding the speed limit.

I say 150HP and a bit of sense is good odds Vs a patrol car.

    Of course.

One presumes that this guy only gave the runner a very half-hearted effort.

What a very silly man he is.

To be honest, in his position right now I'd be more worried about my wife's reaction than the fine, licence suspension and fucked insurance premiums!

I bet he stopped due to the bashes in his kidneys getting absolutely impossible to ignore, rather than due to any real belief that he couldn't get away from the patrol cars.

Why does everyone assume it was a sports bike?

Could have been a Harley or some other old clunker.

Edit - Oh! So it could have been an SV1000. Ignore my post.

we can safely assume it wasnt a harley because there was no reports of things flying off it and it was speeding.

He should have used the excuse "trying to go faster than the nagging coming from behind".

We live in spitting distance of Tara Road, yeah it's a straight stretch but not very wide, with blind driveways and cattle on one side, a rough curve at one end and traffic island at the other. I heard the sirens and wondered what was up - didn't hear the bike though. Could have been nasty.

There's been a few runners on bikes around here lately, last week a Ducati rider headed into an orchard between Katikati and Tauranga to evade Police (who abandoned the chase not long after it started). Public pointed the way and dogs got him lol.

I dare say if you're doing a runner with a pillion - it wouldn't matter at all whether it be your missus or not...
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)
