This review seemed blunt and to the point.

    Too right!

Hmm, I wonder how much persuasion it'd take to get Stickchick trading her EL250 in on one of those...

Of course, it might end up getting 'borrowed' occasionally if she did.

Yeah but what they don't mention is the ton of tuning stuff available for that Honda based motor.

Love the pics of the dude on the BMX track. Makes me want one more actually

A workmate has one and it works fine on Urban streets. It tops out at about 80 km/hr and isn't fun to ride at that speed thanks to excessive vibration. Other than that the only problem he has had is wiring loom issues thanks to the loom being unclad. Wires worn through, water in connectors.

Glad your an optimist but they sound like decent issues for 3k.
How much are those suzuki magics? courier drivers seem to have a ton of fun on those.
I suppose there's not much else around for the $ like that though,
do little derbi motards like this get this far downunder?

Thing is with Magics is they're still only a 50cc full auto. ANd ya can't get em new, they still go for close to three K 8 years old.

I have it on VERY good authority (Lance Lowe) that they're the best bike ever built. He'd know, he's wrecked a bike or two

3000 NZ Pesos, not 3000 quid you snob. It's just a commuter. It's cheaper than some 50cc scooters.

Im Sure they featured on 20/20 or Fairgo a while back last year. The frames from memory cracked in all the important places. And they guy bringing them in was stubborn when it came to admitting their faults under warrenty.

    IIRC

They did indeed. The issue has been resolved. Normal shit Chinese quality procedures. Ship a 1000 good bikes and then revert to making the swing arm from recycled Matchbox toys. It's not about quality it's about making a profit. NZ means nothing to China. If a Chinese person asks you how many people live in NZ say "0". That's statistically closer to the truth when compared to the 1,385,000,000 people living in China.

The initial batch of 50cc bikes had few issues, but they were of course made in Germany.

    wasn't trying for sarcasm.
I realize such things, wasn't really pointing out the price (2k in uk pound new btw so twice the price) just asking if such a minimotard could be bought down here.
white trash seems to have more taste for the thrashing/fun side than the commuting.
