For those that dont know it's an american market only paint scheme.

Skidmark is right, they dont do them in 'raven' anymore which is the gloss black which kind of sucks, i do like the new matt 'graphite/carbon' black bike... my favourite is the white/red/black 08, looks kind of like the 06? Valencia MotoGP bike rossi rode.

Yamaha has gone to the extreme of marketing different paint jobs to europe, australasia and america in an aim to cater to each market, the differences between the european and australasian bikes are minor but the american bikes are a bit different (silver, yellow + flames are US only colours).

Personally I think it looks stupid but i'm sure there are more than enough retarded rich kid 17 year olds in the states that are in love with it and will get daddy to buy it as soon as they can get hold of their licence.

Looks hot. Flames always make a bike go faster, as does the colour black...

Yeah, Im all for variety......but as far as Im concerned the U.S. always gets shafted when it comes to paint. Im forever lusting after the Euro special versions while Im forever disgusted by the American "special" versions that seem marketed to the 17 year old.

For example, Japan is getting a special "Minolta" race rep CBR600RR special edition..its got what we call "Carolina Blue" wheels with white body work..it looks AMAZING.

    My question is:

Why the fuck cant they be so kind to us over here in America. There IS a market for that sort of thing. There ARE Americans with taste. Sure, we might be few and far between....but in a nation of over 300 million.....even a few mean a big market dammit!!!!

Sorry.......its just a nearly continuous source of annoyance for me. Maybe I just need to get it over with a move to Europe or Asia Pacific (NZ)........more my sort of people anyway.

the problem is yamaha built a classic piece of art in '06, which cannot be updated or improved. They have to build something different now.

I agree about the R6 06 being a classic work of art. This is pure genius:

I have decided that I hate the yellow flame paint job.

    I like this though:

That White/Red 09 looks a bit whack. They have bought the gloss black back for 2009 as well, and a spiffy blue/white combo.

Personally I'd like to have either the original red/white 06 or the red/white/black 08 - see below.
