ahhh..... yes again but if you were cunning a nuff you would have a 2.3GT Viva or a 2.6 six Avenger or was that Marina as for the hunter..... the Belmont would win.... But my pick would be a Herald with the 2.0 six in yeeee haa for the VitteseOriginally Posted by bungbung

However, that other fine GM product, the LJ Torana with the 173 & 4OTF would have been difficult to catch without roadblocks![]()

I had an LJ with a 186 and a 3speed floor shift for dragging..... nearly the fastest holden I owned...(very) High 13's!!! (On road tyres, was 215/14s instead of the 13in they came with)Originally Posted by MSTRS

shouldn't have driven the LJ on the road... got pulled up at booze bus, put in in first when I was able to go, and smoked the tyres...oooops....
but it sat on 110mph from melbourne to sydney....with 3 people and a dog... shat the alternator so used a nike shoe-lace to turn the waterpump for 700ks
see photo - I don't think the Triumph could wheeze it's way out of a wet paper bagOriginally Posted by dangerous

You'll find lotsa them in oz runnin around wif 350 chevs in them too... Holden were going to do it.... until the supercar scare...
and they take some getting used too coz the steering-wheel is off centre...
Pretty sure it was only the HZ that came with RTS, the HJ had the thicker sway bar but still had the old HQ top arm mounting position.Originally Posted by Blakamin
Could be wrong but thats my 2 cents worth of 'anorak' knowledge.
P.S. My 3.3 Victor beat many a 173 Torana. 'Aparently' had also higher top speed than the infamous 'Belmonts' with blue or red top lights.
