that was a commodore a few years ago... wankers....
The torana version never made it into production..... (which is why an engineers cert is required to put the 8 into LC-LJ toranas in aus... otherwise if it was an option from the factory, you can do it no wukkas)

Nice cars those. A mate of mine had one. Inheirited it from his Grandad.

Along with the Ventora there was an earlier upmarket version of the Cresta, the Viscount, had quad headlamps and woodgrain interior trim, etc. The 3.3 Crestas and later Victors were the car to beat at the B&H 500 and remained so until the Valiant Chargers came along.
While on the topic of oddball 6 cylinders, anyone ever see a Chrysler 180? It was a french Simca, bigger than a Hunter but smaller than a Valiant, and it had the 215 or 245 Hemi motor.
About the time the V8 Torana (XU2) got canned in the supercar scare, Chrysler were rumoured to be building their own hot rod Hunter with a Valiant 6 - An E49 Hunter kinda boggles the mind...
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Never saw the pic D., still got one or two of the ones I had (and me with overgrown mullet and Fu Manchu moustache - still got THAT!!).

That 3.3 stood every torture I threw at it (out of ignorance) and only blew a front universal.

Wish the old man had let me by a motorbike as well though~! :disapint:

Yup, even though I'm a '75 child, my brothers ('67 and '69) helped me cut my teeth on everything from Vauxhall PB's (3.3 Victor engine, 3 on the tree) to SLR's, XU1's, XW GT (alas, never a genuine XY GTHO Phase III) etc etc. Grew up on the sounds of thirsty rumbling V8's (I have owned a Charger 770 with a 440 Magnum, Statesman 308 HZ, and Sunbird 308 with over $25,000 in receipts on mods), screaming sixes. My brother had an anglia (sp?) with a ford V6 for a while, farkin cool. Oh the memories. Now days its all phhhaaarrpppp wooosh, phaaaarppp, woosh. The times they are a changin'.
