Dargor - The problem is that none of us are infallible. People, regardless of all good intentions do have accidents.

Personally I'm for insurance being made compulsory. Primarily because the majority of people who do have the unfortunate accidents and that are "at cause" without insurance often fail to have the balls or the means to stand up and pay.
At least 3rd party insurance. No matter WHAT you hit...your covered. If your bike isn't worth the premiums. It saves lengthly court battles.

Just swapped mine from state to a company through them. Slightly higher prem' but excess came down from 1000 to 250.

    Hope this helps

    eligible for insurance on GDLS

Yup! I am exempt to ride a 600 on my learners.. My R6 has full cover = ) (I dare not look at my insurance bill though hehe)

Dave.. DB had a good point about applying for an exemption man, I found out about getting my exemption through KB and if you ask me, it was the most constructive thread I have EVER read...

hahaha well I wouldn't call it lies... just careful wording!

I am 190cm and am exempt of this restriction because of the dangers of riding in a cramped up position on a 250 (I swear they don't know about hyobags)...

meh anyway, I thought they were going to restrict me to a certain model of bike, I told them I was keen on a Suzuki GSR600 (road bike) but they said I could ride anything up to 600cc... nothing said about a specific model of 600 - 2 days later I own an R6

    I love the LTSA!

Well done. Dont have a massive crash on it ffs, or they will review the whole process and make a new rule!

Once I have my restricted I think I will apply to sit my full. I should have a good 15,000km's under my belt by then I think. R1 time then.
