Assistance required writing a letter to police.

I need some help.

Im writing a letter to the police in appeal for a ticket.

I got ticketed for riding a motorcycle >250cc 1 week before I got my full license.

Its common knowledge that its quite possible to get off.

Having tried every approach with police officers and still having the book thrown at me, Im not sure how to word this letter, or even what to say.

Some help would be greatly appreciated,

You ... restricted license + bike larger than 250cc = breaking the law.

I hate to say this, but you've got a fairly awful license record, don't you? Racked up a fair few tickets. If I was a plod, I'd likely not feel so generous as to let you off a ticket. Perhaps if you had a clean record they'd be more willing to bend the rules.

One week, though! That's frustrating. Temptation for you I suppose!

It's worth a crack.

I assume that you passed your full a week later, then write a letter.

Taking your record into account, I wouldn't expect much but it's certainly worth a try.

Just provide the required infringement information, say you completed your full licence test a week later and ask nicely if you may have the fine waived.

You may be shit out of luck, but then again you might not.

Correct grammar and spelling wouldn't go amiss

It was one of 4 tickets I got, all the others I will pay as they were actual offense for riding like a lunatic.

But riding a 400 which has less power than most 250's... $400 ticket is not really that fair.

It was the cop who suggested I ask to get it waived - though he wouldnt let me off to start with as he's got to get his quota

Did over 800kms on the weekend and rarely broke the law.

Dont always hold the past against people. Most of my tickets/fines have occured purely from license condition breaches, and now thats behind me.
