One day I got done one time too many, and I angrily and rudely told them to FUCK OFF and now they treat me with respect and don't try to rip me off - treat me as peer even.

Well, I have been driving/riding for over 20 years now, and the only time I have been insured were in my first five years...I have NEVER had an accident in a cage and only a couple of small bins on a bike (and that was when I was insured). I have never claimed insurance as the cost of repairs was less than my excess...

I have fully comp on 2 bikes. The premiums are going down.

I have had terrible luck in NZ so far. I have been hit by uninsured drivers twice and have had difficulties with my own insurers on each occasion (funnily enough I don't use those insurance companies any more....)

I wish every other fucker was insured.

As far as making me dride carelessly? The cost of premiums will rise and eclipse any benefit so I ride just as carefully as if I had no insurance. My motivation is to replace my bike when I get hit by another uninsured fuckwit.

The question you're asking though is, would I pay if I was at fault and could afford it? Yes. IF I was at fault.
cola makes a good point in the fact that IF YOU BELEIVE / ACCEPT you were at fault unlike cola, what would you do? i voted option 3 if in that situation, but im covered by option 1.

A mate, riding home at night after work. Car pulls out of driveway right in front of him, guy was drunk (and uninsured). Mate pretty much totals bike and ruins front end of car, guy runs. Cops catch him, goes to court etc, guy is guilty, has to pay my mate $10 a week.

    Never saw a single payment.

Yeah - that works in the real world - wake up.

1/2 the time the 'other guy' is going to be bigger than you, 1/2 the time the guy wont have the money anyway - so you cant get blood out of a stone, and the other (um) 1/2 of the time you get done for assault and get worse punishment than the guy who caused the accident.

HTFU ? Get real more like it.

$26 a year to cover my run to and from uni and around the streets of auckland on a gn, thats 3rd of course, but living in the middle of 4wd territory and amongst several schools, i'd rather be safe than sorry the tl on the otherhand, full cover all the way, because it took long enough to afford it for me to not want some cunt to take it all away with no comeback

I didnt have insurance when i binned my bike into a car.

I fully paid for the repair work + a little extra to make it nice.

It was less than my insurance exess + yearly annum would cost.

That was my 2nd no insurance at fault accident

In my experiance, no insurance isnt as bad as people make out - although it would be nice to have it. (and i try to have it whenever possiable)
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
