Gutted alright! Thanks for the update. He needs to get that Honda sorted too.
Chad Reeds comments were "BT needs to get healthy and get that bike sorted out it looks like a handful!".
Due to his lack of testing I'm picking.

At least we still have Cody to cheer on. Otherwise I wouldn't bother tuning in to whats probably going to be another Bubba runaway.

What ya got to do is ignore the bubba bit, and watch the rest of the guys. I've noticed the cameras seem to be more focused on the other riders this year instead of who's at the front, hope they keep it up.

Bad luck for BT, the more kiwis racing there the better.

    Date 24 June 2008.

    Press release:

    Ben Townley to undergo surgery.

Factory Red Bull Honda racer, Ben Townley is scheduled to undergo surgery today in Florida to repair a torn rotator cuff and a tear in the labrum of his right shoulder. BT has also been diagnosed with a chipped lunate bone in his right wrist which will not require surgery but will be placed in a cast for up to four weeks. The former FIM MX2 world champ and AMA Supercross Lites (E) champ has been struggling with a long list of injuries which have marred the New Zealanders title hopes in the 2008 AMA Supercross Lites and now the Outdoor Motocross season.

The 23-year-old Kiwi who is based in Tallahassee, Florida was disappointed with the prospect of missing the rest of the season but was confident that he would return 100% healthy and ready to fight for championships: ‘It’s a hard pill to swallow especially as it’s my first year with a new team. The guys at Red Bull Honda have been really supportive, as have all my sponsors, THOR, Parts Unlimited, Alpinestars, Oakley, DC shoes, and Leatt Neck braces. I pride myself on doing the best job I can and representing my sponsors to the highest level. I have not been able to do that well at all this year and I feel bad for that,” admitted Townley.

Renowned Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Augustine will perform the surgery and will follow Townley’s rehab program closely. “I feel confident with Dr Augustine. He specializes in shoulder injuries so I know I am in good hands. We first need to see how the surgery goes before we discuss any dates for getting back on the bike. I want to be 100% fit and able to fight for the win when I return” vowed Townley.
It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.
