    Ha ha NOT

Seriously I do want to see how they are set up and which ones you have etc, as I would like to get some in the future.

They're pretty easy to fit, your Adv probably has acc power feed you can tap into, then just glue on the grips, stick on the switch & tidy the wires with a few lil zip ties.

Although Rosie just got some Dual-Star ones which are a thin sheet that goes under normal grips, more fiddly to fit but I think I might get some eventually. The Daytona ones I have (Oxford are similar) are harder & a bit bigger than the dual-compound Renthal grips I had on before, & nowhere near as comfortable.

    Cheers

I may come to regret this statement and crawl whingingly back pleading to put my frozen mitts on these delectable items over the course of this weekend.

The route through the Pureora Forest, I have just put a TKC80 on the front wheel but still have the standard tyre (very road orientated) on the back. So hopefully it is not to muddy (and bike will be loaded to).
Don't worry mate, sure the road rear will be fine...............

    Tyre options for Y1.

Cmon guys, lets convince Mike to scare the moths off his wallet, and wack a tyre on the Katoom. I'm picking some gravel/muddy infested roads, and possibly the odd slip here n there. Maybe consider a TKC, or Mitas E-09 etc.
Or am I a mile off base here?
(I'm on a 1/2 worn TKC up front, and a near new E-09 up back if that helps).

I'm expecting a reasonably wet saturday and showers on sunday but, as you say, the weather leading up to this weekend will have softened everything in sight so its going to be a bit messy.

Mind you, as long as you can get some drive off the rear and as long as the front sticks, you should be fine.

I've already packed the camera so I'm prepared.

    Scrambler Sprockets

Any of you Scrambler lads know about front sprockets? I want to drop it a tooth or two and wondered if the spline was same as any whale slaying makes and what the standard size is (could probably take some bits off and look at mine, but that would mean opening the toolbox - if i can find it).

Thanks for the confidence! Maybe I should put the DR400 on a trailer and bring it over?

No the back tyre can stay the original, I am riding to Taupo with two others so that should help in the pull and push department if I get stuck. The new TKC80 is on so at least the front of the bike will go where I want it to.

Oh I also have a new helmet, if you can't ride fast you have to at least look fast!!

And Triboy as for scaring the moths off my wallet - my ex wife has managed to do that with legal bills etc!!

Triboy / Crisis Management I have just sent you PMs
