Red face sorry gotta pull the plug on this one

Clint et al - I'm disappointed but I'll have to pass on this ride - my work has an off site meeting on the Friday in Auckland when I was planning to have ridden to the start of this adventure. To you all - have fun and ride safe - cheers Aslan

Bugger! Work, it's the curse of the riding classes!

You could always throw your bike on MarkS's trailer before you head to Jaffaland then fly back into Taupo on the Friday night & pick it up

    Cheers

It would be no problem at all

Stephen would have to pay for any strengthening required to stop the GS bending the trailer like a banana...

    Auckland to Taupo friday..

Right I have completed the obligatory service (not the wife, the bike, ok?) which for a change was more than a kick both tyres....

I do however have a couple of M10 bolts extra and a few of those needle rollers out of the rear suspension linkage.....Just kidding, you don't think I would leave things out do you, I have them in a zip lock bag with rest of the extensive genuwine suzuki tool kit so they won't get lost.

Anyway, to get back faintly on topic, I'm ready and as far as I can tell that means friday off down the west coast, Raglan, Kawhia then towards Te Kuiti and via Pureora (geographical centre of the north island anyone?) to Taupo and wherever it is on the napier road for friday night.

Anyone else is more than welcome!

Sorry Mike, getting as far south as Awakino is looking a bit optimistic, I'll buy you a beer when you turn up.

I'll tag along, meet you some where etc.
Maybe mike could meet us at Piopio (refuel prior to Pureora crossing), or at the forestry HQ itself?
The usual ph calls the night before seem to work well.
Gotta slip a rear tyre on, as that old metzeler is bald as a badger.

You bought second hand tyres off a Hobbit, what were you thinking?

Anywho, my current thinking is something like leave the Autobahn (Papakura) at 9.00am planning to hit Taupo by 4.00pm. I will have to refine this next week once we have all the possible permutations of who's coming and where we are meeting them but thats the rough outline.

As usual, open to all faintly sensible suggestions....

I would be keen to meet up with people at Pio Pio if that is convenient at say 2.00pm?

triboy etc what do you reckon.

I have a new TKC80 to put on the front which should help matters up there!
