Blah I flipped the ER... ouch...

Aaah crap... on my way home this evening... just after northcote on the Northern...

A car changed lanes a bit too close to me and I emergency braked... mmm well climbed onto the picks a little too hard and lifted the back wheel up and it didn't stop...

Flipped head over heals with the bike coming down kinda on me... well to the side not exactly sure...

mmm damage to me... well sore knees, and hip... nothing serious there... sore right rist and elbow... bike... well not too bad actually... mirrors x2, intrument pannel, levers and gear selector bent... and handle bars are bent I think... didn't see any fluids leaking which is a good sign...

anyway haul myself off to A&E... suspected broken/fractured right elbow, can't see much on the x-ray... will have to wait for the swelling to go down a bit...

    ah crap...

    Doh!

Hope it all is fixed up real soon.
Perhaps this device would permit full 360 forward flips?

Hope you're ok. Bike sounds like it's fixable. I've been up on the front wheel a few times because of stupid drivers.

Far kin 'ell! Over the handlebars at motorway speeds isn't good for your health.

Why did the car change lanes into you?
    Did the car hit you?
Did the car notice you'd gone over the bars?
    Did the car stop?
Did anyone get it on video?

Actually, if you were considering repeating the performance at 10-second intervals for half an hour, they'd help immensely - braided lines help brakes not to fade as the fluid heats up.

Bummer about the crash, though - I've done about the same thing myself (on an FXR150, which also apparently didn't need braided lines).

I take it you had nowhere to swerve to...? Maybe the thing to take away from this one is, always look to steer into a gap rather than try to stop in a straight line, whenever possible.
