Are you not aware that it snows in Arizona?

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
Talk about you road boys takin us off topic Jeepers!! LOL!
I used to go there when the kids and me where learners. I have a 4x4 ute so just continued on past the pits at the old sandpit then 15mins or so up the beach (check on the tides though!). Park the ute on a dune, take the bikes off, and there's some OK tracks, forest to explore, sand dune jumps and a few good hard pack places to practice wheelies behind the dunes and not on the beach. So its not to bad for a free, fun, casual afternoon. Now that the family price is reasonable at the sandpit for 3 bikes and we have gained a bit of ability I'd probably not go there now. But the Bombing Range was fun for a hoon without havin to worry about other bikes to much. Plenty of quad tracks back there. But last time I went was some time ago now so the rules could well have changed since then. I don't know if you can still get in that way now the Sandpit has changed where the pits are. Ktm boy should be able to tell us?
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

Be carefukll up there man huge fines if you get caught and the persecute everyone they do catch..also me carefull of the blinds up there ( ammo that aint gone off ) 2 recruits in waioru lost there legs about 2 years ago for venturing to close to a shell the thought looked pretty cool.
" yah trick yah "
You dont go to the end of Wilsons, there is a car park next to the lake about 5 minutes up Wilsons, access road goes from the carpark to the beach, its rough, 4x4s only or ride your bike. Then ride miles up the beach to the bombing range, I got dragged out there a few times cause my pussy quad riding mates wont ride anywhere else. Im so over it now especially since the last time when we met oncoming police in there 4x4 ute, got a telling off and threatened taking our bikes off us, fines etc. Fair enough I guess.
We also tried driving right up to southend too, accessed the beach through foresty roads, dragged bikes under gates etc. Naughty.
Bombing range is ok, there are a few big jumps hidden away in some of the sand dunes but its all torture on the bikes and dangerous, no direction etc so risk of head on collisions are high. Better than riding around in circles through whoopy old sandpit but definately rather go to Kimmys or Thunder.
QUOTE=Danger;1603949]Obviously been a while since you were there as its hard to find whoops at sandpit these days, unfortunetly.[/QUOTE]
As soon as this was posted I thought...Wheres Danger? LOL
I've got a track to open up and I'm never going to groom it.

Nahh - I've ridden approximately 24,984,537 sandwhoops in my lifetime and I've just about had enough of them, thanks all the same.
The smooth trails up there now introduce a new factor - scary speed on the open trails. On occasion, I've seen peak speeds in the mid to high 90s (km/h) on the more open tracks at the Sandpit - I'd hate to hit a tree at that speed. I stick to the singletrack in the trees these days.
Keep up the great work KTMBoy - the park's in great nick!
We have started to ride some of the fast open tracks and yeah the speed does get up there and things can happen quickly. I've had a few close calls. My mate Aaron had a high speed head on with a tree on the Gum Tree Ridge track. Lucky he had a neck brace. Reckons it saved him but he was a bit dazed for a while. Didn't save his bar risers though.
The big thing I notice is that since the whoops have gone that I've got really unfit and fat! The whoops did wonders for your fitness. Also don't have the confidence to just nail a set of whoops when I do come across them now like I used to.
