Slightly sore throttle wrist after 4 hours !!

Does anyone have a cure for the effect that having your throttle turned half way on means your wrist ends up slightly lower than the handle bars, and sort of a bit cranked, and cramped, and as soon as you try and straighten your wrist, you end up releasing the throttle to get a straighter wrist arm action and end up slowing down and shagging around trying to get a better grip, a few kms down the road your hand has slipped around the throttle again, and bent your wrist again. I only get this way after about 4 hours riding. I will never stop me riding these distances or changing my bike because it has happened on all the bikes I have had.
Left wrist / hand stays straighter no problems there. May be I should just get tough?? I know a few other riders have the same problem...Any ideas out there??

Sometime ago I tried a throttle boss. A rubber device that you attatch to your throttle grip. When you are riding your palm puts pressure on it and aids in holding a constant thottle without hanging onto the grip too tight. Confused? Think cheap cruise control.

Wasn't too bad once you get used to it.

    Options
    1, HTFU.
2, put it it top gear on idle and don't slow for anything.
3, ride it in 1st, 2nd or3rd everywhere using full wrist action.
No responsibility is accepted should you try these

A 1/5th throttle insert would fix that.

Try some new grips, maybe thats why your throttle is slipping back.

You are probably suffering from early symptoms of Arthritis and inflammation of the joints!

Try (fine) spray of magnesium chloride and rub in then rub in "Natures Kiss" Anti-Flamme herbal relief creme at night, especially the night before a long ride!

    Pharmacy products.

Warning: Don't let the Ant-Flamme get onto your bollocks etc or you wont need your bike to go fast!

You are just experiencing the joys of the born again biker, everything hurts from now on.

It might not work for you but nothing ventured, nothing gained! Good luck. Cheers John.

Heated grips ! Word is they increase your manlihoodness ! Though there is reference to stiffness there somewhere, oh and not to mention stickiness !

Could be a bit of *too much spring* in there ! Be interested to hear more about the 1/5 th insert 98 was on about ! Though i dont seem to have a problem there, its either full on or full off lol nah i lie !! Ask anyone, i ride like my nanna !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Simple as this, reduces throttle travel, best bang for buck mod there is.Just be well careful when you cut the cable.

Start with your wrist higher up, not in a neutral position.

You want your wrist to be in a neutral position for the most time possible, who cares if its canked up when you are pulling away from the side of the road.

Its when your cruising, thats when you want the neutral position.

If "stuff" starts to "happen to me" after about 4 hours riding, I take a clear message from it. Take a break !

It sounds to me like you are getting stressed and are fixating on a minor thing that wouldn't normally bother you. Notice how it doesn't affect you normally. Time for a cuppa and snack somewhere, and let that head unwind.

I'd be very pleased if I could ride for four hours before getting "a slightly sore wrist". I'm lucky if I can manage an hour.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

I've never had this problem. I think it stems from too long in a straight line. If you're going through twisties for hours you're changing your wrist position regularly so don't get any issues. However I have to stop every 2 1/2 hours for fuel.
