The Whitford Tavern (sp?) just by the roundabout is a nice stop but it's too close to either your destination or departure poitn to be a tourers pub

For those in the Manawatu the Clydesdale Museum Cafe on the back road of Levin is brilliant but then again, it's almost home or just after you left to be a destination in itself

In the Wairarapa how could we not mention the Tin Hut since we go there just about every Wednesday night ride. Lake Ferry is a great ride even if it's not one of the great pubs.

Oh the Riverhead, yes! Went there 2 weeks ago. About 7-8 Harleys pulled in. Sweet. Have been wanting to go to Hallertau.

Nothing wrong with Patangata, no aires or graces, just a good honest biker friendly pub with good honest tucker, nothing flash but you can relax there.

That good honest tucker had a few of my mate shitting through the eye of a needle for days after a visit there a couple of years ago.

The place was tired, rundown and dirty so not really surprising.

    Never been back since.

    Maybe it's improved recently.

And Yes it is a biker friendly country pub although I would no describe it as a relaxing place.

    But thats just my opinion.

Not surprised no one has mentioned the blackball Hilton. I thought it didn't match the hype and was bloody expensive! Won't feel the need to go there again.

Good to hear that because it is a nice ride out that way.

Maybe it's worth a stop next time we pass.
