    Just got first bike. WOOT!!!

I am now the proud owner of a....

    Kawasaki ZXR250A

and OMG went for my first ride... Best experience of my life... on par with loosing my virginity!
just was riding for about an hour (on a un-used sub division street) but got the basics of up and down shifting...

How do I get my licence? I know i have to fill out a scratchie and do a competency test..

Where is the easiest place to do this and the cheapest way for doing this..

Uploaded some pictures of my experience...

Ladies, if a man says he will fix something, he will fix it. You don't need to keep reminding him every 6 months

Way to go....It's a brilliant feeling isn;t it..

Take your Basic Handling Certificate (which you get after doing the BSH Course), with you into the licensing agent... AA or LTNZ or such like..

    Fill out the application form
    Pay your money
    Pass the eyesight test
Do the scratchie test and pass it

And you will get handed the lovely little slip of paper, which says 6L....

On the price side of things, it's a pretty standard thing for the fee for the licence part of things
The one that varies is the cost of your basic handling courses (you can't get your licence without having passed this)

If you have a look at the site from the link below it will give you the info you need

If your looking at Bike Comms, have a read of this review..

Congrats! Hope you have many enjoyable km's. My BSH Certificate was $50. Learners test is $80 all up. Check http://www.ltsa.govt.nz/licensing/mo...rner.html#fees.
Don't buy an L plate, there are tons of people with them lying around gathering dust.

    L plates are about $2 from a $2 shop

test is $40, probably more if you do a course

$40 scratchie test. if you've got your car licence this will (should) be piss easy.

    welcome to riding!

buy some leather gloves - $100 and saves alot of pain/hassle plus they're warm

We did our BHS Course at REAP but the Son did his in Tauranga with a private instructor. The AA will know who does them locally in your area. So will the local bike shops.

Nice looking bike. Good stuff! Keep the shiny side up and you'll do fine...

WooT WooT!!! Shot monkey, congrats mate

As said briefly in the bling I sent, spend some time in the appropriate forum sections & suck the marrow of experience from the many here that will assist you

    Slowly slowly catches the monkey
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded
