    Yep. Came out to get on the bike once whilst parked in a car lot and some cager had apparently knocked it over, or the side stand decided to move all by itself, or Elvis did it, or aliens, I don't know, but the bike was on its side on the ground. The clutch lever broke off. Now I carry a spare, just in case.

    A functioning brain!

    Relying on the autonomic nervous system, like so many other road users, can lead to dire consequences, very quick!

    * I carry alot of tools (the GSX has good storage under the seat, it's old and I may need them!)
    * Spare sunnies (I use tinted safety glasses because I prefer to ride with the visor open)
    * I also have 2 spare joining links for the chain
    * Tyre Pando
    * Polyprop inner gloves, neck warmer, waterproof over-trou.
    * The usual wallet, phone etc.

    I see most people carry a first aid kit. I don't but it is a good idea.
    I'll get one of those this afternoon.

    Sometimes when I go riding I even take the wife!!!!!

    I hate riding without something to put on my lips although I normally take lip balm. If I'm silly enough to forget one then I normally wind up buying (yet another) one along the way

    The only other things I'm anal about carrying is my wallet and cell phone. The first aid kit and tools are permanently stashed away in the bike somewhere.

    I didn't think I did but on reflection there's a basic toolkit and fuses under the seat and in my jacket I keep a pocket knife with lots of whatsits including screwdrivers, scissors and the thingy for getting stones out of horses hooves (ya never know). Then there's the cellphone and wallet to take care of major emergencies and breakdowns. And of course smokes and a lighter are a essential. And some overtrousers on marginal days...

    Oh dear.

    No clutch lever though - I've had clutch cables break before and it is possible to get the bike home

    Why do so many people have panadol on their lists? I only have my licence, money card and a screwdriver/allen key to tighten the screws over the bikes.
