Question How do you track your mileage??

How do you track your mileage??

I am currently just recording my odometer reading on the petrol receipts but was thinking there must be a better way as I'm not the most organised person so there is a good chance I’ll loose some of these receipts before I get back to my computer to record it all...

I was thinking there must be some sort of java application that I could put on my nokia phone that would make it easy for me to record.... It is unusual for me not to have my phone so this would be ideal.... even better if it could sync up with my pc via bluetooth.

Has anyone used a java application on their phone to do this task? or are there better options?

On a trip I normally just record the k's as a note, but you could give this a try too,

i tend to fit a lot under me belt Dave !
Never been one to keep track of anything like that ! All i know is it costs me 30 notes to fill up and i only get around 200 km out of it !
Grub be the one to talk to with reagard to keeping records !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

    Trip A + Trip B + Odometer

Usually reset A on a new Tank, and use B for recording Trip.

Heh... That would be nice... I'd love some fancy gadget to do it all for me but at this stage it looks like keeping a pen in my jacket pocket or under the seat seems to be the way to go....

I just liked the idea of using my phone, it already has a GPS in it so I can track average speed etc.... but the notepad feature is a bit clumsy for recording everything...

Seriously though, you only need to monitor your mileage a few times to get a feel for the average consumption. You can easily do that with pen and paper. Once you know how many k's you'll reliably get off a tank you simply ride off the trip meter.
except when you forget to reset it, doh!

I use the trip metre between tanks. Oh and when I clocked over from 39,999 to 40,000km, that caught my attention.
