Surprises the hell outta me! I guess the silver cage drivers overseas are smart enough to turn their farking lights on in the fog - here (at least the dorks around Hamilton) they drive in their silver cages in the fog with their lights off and don't seem to realise they blend into the fog VERY WELL...

Why oh why are so many cages painted in the following colours:
"Fog White", "Fog Silver" and "Tarmac Black"?

And why do so many dorks drive them without lights under poor visibility conditions?

Also Plonker Red, Idiot Green, Camper Van White etc etc

I recall reading of an experiment that was done in the States some years ago. A series of people drove around an arranged suburban course and were then tested as to what they had observed.

They all spotted anything resembling a threat (there was a cop and a Hells Angel type) the results were very variable about all the other potential hazards, old people, kids, a cyclist, etc etc.

Your fluoro jackets might not help you, you have to look scary.

I was going for a ride around the hills with my dad on pushies the other week, and I saw these two dudes, one on a BMW, and one on an XR, one fulla was wearing two of those fluro sash's, you know in an X shape... Looked real bandit eh!
