We are all here with the same problem, you dont have to be ashamed to say it out loud !
With me this time Dave * Hi my names Dave and i'm an ....... awww haha wrong forum
But speaking of such things (Hypothetically that is) Was speaking to a bloke who held a bike licence in the past but not his car licence ! Lost it at some stage (see above), Never bothered to sit anything when he was allowed to again !
Many years later (driving yrs that is) gets pulled up and ticketed for no licence, option 1, sit licence to get off the fine !
Heads in to book his licence test for his car (work related and needs it), Gets told he has to sit his bike first as thats what he had prior to losing it way back then in the 70's or early 80's ! Argued with them he didn't want to ride a bike again but needed his car for work !
Nope !! Has to do the bike first THEN the car !
Sweet as, he does as is required (written and oral) then the driving test two weeks later ! Full bike licence back in his pocket ! What the hell he thinks and goes out and buys a harley !
This was in the last few years !

How about from someone who was riding in the mid 80's through to the early 90's?

I'm thinking some sort of summary of the procedure leading in to a review of some suitable bikes as an article.

Mentioning RRS is a good point.

Always good to reference against some first hand experiences.

By the same token it might not have legs at all.

Maybe it could be a reference thread if a mod deletes the PD. Dunno.

I had no bike for ummmm a few years (I think about 8?): combination of first house, university study and thus no money, then a new career again with no money....

my "re-entry" bike was a Yamaha SRX-6 which I really liked. things I noticed most were that I believe brakes particularly and tyres also seemed to have gotten a LOT better than previously. Traffic was mental but i have never liked commuting or riding round town too much anyway (bikes are strictly toys for me).

Oh, and chicks still didnt flash their tits or seem to want to get jiggy just because I rode a motorbike. ah well
