New to KB. Searching for a 250 bike down South

Hi everyone,

Just joined KB, in search of a learner bike thats near dunedin. Was looking around and seems to be GN250 is only way I could really go with current budget (about $3000 for bike to allow $500 for gear)

Wondering if this is the best option considering I'm quite tall at 6'3"? thought about just getting the GN and possibly trying to get exemption for my height after 6 months or so, anyone know if the chances of me being successful with this? or if its a good idea?

A GN250 is fine. They were my first bike and I am 6'3"-and-a-half, and it wasn't too small for me. I mean, it was small, but not uncomfortable. I went all over NZ on it.

I second that. I have bought three 250's for around $1000 each, and they have all been good value.

GN's are a great bike to learn on, had mine 2 weeks and love it to bits. Word of warning: Take a multimeter along when you check it out, test voltage across battery when running, and at 5000rpm. If it's above 16V the regulator/rectifier is fried and will set you back $240-270! I learned by experience!!
