Well I suppose you can hardly call the Smart car (eewww) a "sports" car, but then I wouldn't have called this thing one either. Howzabout the 3 wheeled "motorbike" in at Motomail at the mo - called an mp3, believe it or not. They have their two wheels in the front rather than the back like a trike. Saw one on the internet and then when I called into Motomail on the weekend they had one in the front of the shop. Daggy. Probably has some great features going for it but I think I'll stick to either 2 wheels or my cynos thanks very much

Next best thing to a motorcycle is death. If you get my drift.

No bikes have 2 wheels cars have 4 and it is ugly, very ugly. The only thing that comes close to being as much fun as a bike is a Lotus 7.

I saw one driving around here in Auckland the other day. I just about laughed out loud. Has all the worst features of a bike; you'll get wet in the rain, you'l get killed easily when hit by a car, and the worst features of a car; can't split lanes and can't park in a tight little places. But, to each their own!

hahahaha, "demand them in your next car"

(as if I earn enough to purchase a vehicle with them fitted!)

You could fit your own side curtains... I would recommend plain or stripes, stay away from patterns

Personally I think the next best thing to a bike would be a jetski... motorbike of the waves

I never thought I'd ever say this, but Mrs B's MX5 is a whole heap of fun. Being low to the ground, you don't have to go fast to get a good impression of speed and it has a heap of MazdaSpeed performance bits on it too. The handling is incredible which is fantastic for the roads round here. The only downer is that I can't drive it hard with her in the car or it would mean a swipe round the head or worse

Yup! There're a great little car! Does that mean you offer to wash it for her and then have to take it out to "blow dry" it..?

Hehehe - yep, I mostly wash it, but the blow dry is a great idea. I also check the water and oil because she refuses to do it and says that's my job.

Yep, riding a bike, flying or sailing all have similar skill sets.

If you can't afford a car with side curtain airbags, you could just wear a helmet while driving.

I'm sure an openface would be well safe enough, would make you look a bit like a rally driver or something though.
