How fast were you going when you had ya accident? :-) I looked at getting stuff from there but for the reason given - looked cheap and dodgy..
Have you been to the doctor? The other guy's right, being knocked out is at least a mild concussion...
was only doing around 50kmph using my sholder to stop the truck wasnt one of my best ideas
yes I went to A&E had full checks scans and Xrays.
I got of very lucky with only a few stitches abd brusies.
I was wearing my back pack too which had a lot of kit in it which might have dragged me more then I wanted.
Looking at the the marks on the foot path to the blue gum tree (my resting place) it shows clearly the grooves of my clips and my helmet to the tree.
Back pack is still ok![]()

I'm with MBB on this one!
A more expensive helmet is also much more comfortable, and you don't spend a potentially fatal part of your ride worrying about that noise... or itch.. or some other little distraction on your melon.
A mate thought his budget helmet was perfect for his needs... after all he was on a learners and could only do 70...
Happy to report, before he even had to use the FFM in anger he tried on a Shoei. The first time out he quickly realised what I had been telling him, and understood why I will always pay top dollar for my lid.
My mate has never had to use the Shoei in anger either.
Mine I have! Got dumped on by back at 30k when I binned the scooter (not the NS1, but a Yamaha Roadie) in a race. All my gear (including the back protector did it's job well.
The Shoei absorbed what was a huge body slam, and I was able to ride for 2 more hours (6 hour race).... with a replacement helmet of course
I swear if it was a cheapie I would had sported a massive head ache... or concussion.... Not prepaired to find out!
I havent had a learners licence for about 30 years.
I have been riding for 30 odd years not counting trail bikes.
I understand what you are saying about getting good helmets.
I am very impressed about this helmet as I do belive it saved my head.

I never said you were a learner... my mate was (at 39). The message was that he never really understood why expensive helmets are so good (other than protecting you in a bin) until he wore one.
Good to hear you understand the value in a good lid... many don't. Sadly.
The Arai man gives a good demo on them...
Before I left NZ and in Portugal I had very expensive helmets.
It was a cost factor this time as we had moved back to NZ and was starting from scratch.
I might go back to the flip top like I had in Portugal.
But the double visor has been so good. We will see lol.
Still have to look at mabe buying a new bike yet.![]()
