As you have well found out....

I wouldn't pillion on either.... as you would need to be extremely strong and fit.... and have an arse of steal..... also be a midget for the distance between the seeat and pillion pegs..

If you want insane speed and comfort.. go for the CBR1100XX (Blackbird)

he is wise to stay away from the dark side.. the honda is too sensible!, the gsx1100 may not be the most comfortable tourer, but that engine is a bit of a monster really mate, it might not live with yer gixxer's and bladez, but a lot of em are still tearin up dragstripz all over the world and winnin.
there is a sayin in the UK fireblades are like arseholes.. everyone's got one!

Are you just saying that to taunt me because I didn't test-ride one before the vifferbabe talked me into buying the VifFerraRi?

    I don't believe we're in the UK.

If your looking for comfort from the GSX or the CBR forget it, they arent built designed for this purpose.

The best sport bike/tourer on the market will be the VFR800 (in my opinion) and then maybe a Bandit.

You will never find long distance comnfort on a sports bike unfortunetly. I have this dilema with my bike and last week test rode a few, the VFR beats the lots for comfort without to much of a comprimise on sports handling.
If I was to make a choice from the GSX and the CBR I would go the CBR because at least with underseat exhaust you will have the option of attaching a rear footpeg Modification to allow a better legroom.I dont think you can do this with the GSX as it has a pipe on one side which may support the footpeg

    Good luck

Yes another good option Chris CBR1100xx is and awesome bike, but perhaps not so nimble
It really comes down how far down the sports to Tourer ruler you want to go.

But in saying that, everyone needs one too........

I wouldn't want to pillion on either of them Mini Hooks - in fact I hate trusting anyone on the riders seat really, scares me shitless - especially if you saw the way some of my mates ride.

For a bit more power I would be pushing the old bugger towards a Blackbird, VFR800, Bandit or Hayabusa - unless he would consider a twin, in which case a VTR1000 or SV1000

Ahem... [small voice pipes up] In all of this discussion about speed and comfort nobody has mentioned the STX1300...

Judging by the complaining from Mrs Bungbung, the VTR pillion accommodation is not very accommodating.
