Yeah.. it is an RS250..... and am a good mother...Hes been racing MX for alot of years and rides with me and his Dad, must be the best way to learn ? In actual fact more power will be safer when riding with us, overtaking etc, considering we covered 2000km in 2 days just this weekend.

So unfortunately we must guess that the insurance costs for your 750cc motorcycle of similar value aren't very relevant to this lady's query.

$860 per annum's a bit pricey for a Z750, though, innit? Did you get a quote from Protecta?
My intention was to give a ball park figure, given my age you would expect to pay more for a younger rider, Protecta through the bike shop were more expensive but not by much so I went with my own insurer.

Nice thought and all, but really how about an RG150 or FXR150 rather than the RS250 for his first road bike? Great learner bikes, give him a year then maybe the RS250 after that.

That is where we are at, he has an RG150E and has covered thousands of kms on it. He has proved himself and now is outriding it. Insurance tho was under ours and not a good idea.

Started with state, after a decade of not needing em someone hits me from behind: another state member. They did a huge crap on me and I said you state.
AMI, great insurer, once used em with no worries. Changed to AA as they offered me a much cheaper offer as I was a member and they'd be easily as good as AMI.

I would have thought it would be cheaper for you (melon3) or his dad to register it and just have him down as a covered rider.

Otherwise I except no matter how sensible and mature he is (and he does sound like it) most, if not all insurance companies, will hear 15yr old and rs250 in the same breath, and pass it quicker than you can say cya.
