Ask the bike shops who they think does the better repair jobs,
i know that it isn't state, but thats what i did and they were pretty honest
because it had nothing to do with them who insures it as long as they fix it

Try David Golightly - broker through Vero. He gave me my husbands no claim bonus - 65% - and I had never had any type of insurance before - do not go to State or AMI as they do not specialise in bikes, you will need a specialist.

ive got my bike covered through farmers mutual.
cost me 145 bucks for cover of 3800 and all the other shit.
ive got all my stock and everything else with them and they are awesome to deal with.
had a few claims with different things and nothing was a worry.
dont know if you have to be a farmer anymore to use them.
    i know you used to.
    anyway thats my 2 cents

Otherwise I except no matter how sensible and mature he is (and he does sound like it) most, if not all insurance companies, will hear 15yr old and rs250 in the same breath, and pass it quicker than you can say cya.
Not a good Idea - if bike not rated for the son, then all turns to custard if he crashes and claims. I should know I work in insurance - and don't worry I don't push mu company to you guys as i am not insured with them either.

Hey Quasi - checked that it says locked, not double locked. We're covered by Classic and they require steering lock and one other lock.

    Cool insurance...

hmmmm I just worked out what I pay for a year...$248.04 fully insured.
Thats covers 65% no claims... and the bike is locked up in a garage at night.
and that I am the only rider of the bike... (that helps to bring the cost down a lot that I am the only rider - and I stick to that rule to)

So maybe there is a difference between sports bikes and cruisers to be insured.

When i first got insurance for my KR noone wanted to know me but The National Auto Club is who i eventually got to sort it for me. Wether they pay out or not is still to be seen, but worth a try. Get a Quote anyhow.

    Bizarre.

My bike is insured fully comp with AMI. It's only insured for $4000. But it also only costs me $35 a month.

    Go figure
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
