    BRC Survey / ACC

I am honoured to have been selected to take part in a survey sponsored by the LTSA I have been selected at random to answer the survey re ACC history. the good news is having been a bonafide biker for nearly 30 years and currently doing 15,000 / yr I have never had to make an ACC claim so thats good. I hope they don't ask about passing on the left, speeding or other unimportant stuff. anyone else been contacted?

Yep, got one of their letters yesterday. I've been riding almost as long as Redstar, and I might have had one ACC claim related to riding when I was 15 and hurt my knee when I feel off in the middle of Khyber Pass road, but I can't remember if I went to the doctor or not, or just waited for the swelling to go down (typical teenage male)!? On the other hand I truly stuffed my knee skiing about 10 years ago and did claim ACC for that!

(hmm, are they only picking on RF900 riders!?)

That is strange anyway I did the survey what a load of naff questions like do do have a full licence, what kind of protective gear do I use? I said none I've had a vacsectomy so not required Have I ever binned off well I can say no to that cause its true (so far) and I did notice the ACC posted a 458million profit last fiscal year! and we are sick of paying for the 1970 paraplegics! anyway at least they are showing some interest. They asked what parts of the body are most at risk> I said Knees funny that.
and what do I think causes that well I said impact from having your legs out straight on cruiser pegs. and what could improve this I said bike design.
They said what do you do to avoid accidents I said I dont smoke, text, read or eat drink when driving, I look where I want to go not where I am going,
it was a good survey apart from the fact that they never asked me if I have ever exceeded 200klms / hr they never asked that thank God>

Yeah, thought it was all going to be, do you speed bollex but nope.

Did seem to focus on safety equipment. Kinda, poor, I mean, if you are relying on your helmet and jacket to save you from car drivers then your as good as dead already.

    Cheers
