Bike might have the BRV Virus...

    Hi gang,

Shot through to Hams yesterday and dropped off bike for its 8,000ks scheduled service. Also I think it may have contracted the Buell Reliability Virus (BRV).
Story goes I was doing a blat to Taumarunui, hook a left at Manunui then the back road to National Park BP. Pit stop at said BP Servo. Started her up again and it had trouble firing up. When idling it was definitely off and when taking off felt like it was in a higher gear... then power gradually resumed. Couple of days later went to start it up again, same thing. So I thought I'd try and kill 2 birds with one stone when I took it in.
So am without a bike for about a week (at the most) hopefully. Funny thing though while the guys at Road & Sport helped me to take the bike off the back of the ute one of them asked me, "Gee you haven't crashed too have ya?" "Nah mate, just a service." Didn't enquire any further but sounds like they may have had some prangs to fix... not quite sure really.

On a lighter note shot across the road to Hamilton Motorcycles and scoped out the ZX10 and 2005 ZX636. Amazing looking machines. If you're thinking of getting one, highly recommend you get a rad guard. It's definitely a bulls eye for stones and insects (RRP$15,500- + ORC). Oh yeah they also have a 2004 CBR1000 Fireblade with 3,000ks I think the guy said. Traded in and has got a sticker price of $18,000-. And no I'm not getting paid to say this.

Happy New Year gang and be safe.

No mention of any loaner. Also I was told that if the race kit is chucked on you can basically kiss your warranty goodbye.

What lesson was that pray tell.
Yeah well, things are Ok now, tis not the ole collapsible table like before so I'm OK. Yeah, I think I need to get a side by side picture of the Firebolt next to a Japanese model some day soon for visual comparison. Good idea.
