I worry about the American build quality with the new one... I hope it isn't a harley in a nice looking frame - But I WANT ONE anyway... it's NICE... That said - I didn't even know that the old Norton was a rotary - can you get a rotary engine in a bike today?? Anyone?Originally Posted by betti

Well I voted cool cause it's one impressive looking bike - the Commando Roadsters were gobsmackingly beautiful on the showroom floor in their day....the colours, the line of shock, engine and frame tubes,it was a hastily slapped together piece of kit as a stop gap - and became a classic in it's own lifetime.I didn't like the fastback or the SS cafe racer, but the Roadster was beuuuutiful.Walking along K road you'd hear the distinctive whistle of the peashooters, turn around with your mouth open and see a canary yellow Commando Roadster coming down the road.Everyone wanted one,I sure did - I got to use one when I didn't have the use of my licence...we,um....borrowed it,a metalflake blue one.I would take it out where no cops were,to Kawakawa Bay and beyond where it was gravel - I would laugh out loud while riding it...they are that much fun to ride.
What annoys me is they are just using styling cues to sell a bike - I don't like my buttons being pushed by remote control....even with such a gorgeous bike as this...my head is down and I feel like smacking some greasy salesman who tries to sell me one...Leave me alone with my memories,ok?
