Time for, a cool change. Time for a cooooool change

If there's one thing in my life thats missing
It's the time that I spend alone
Sailing on the cool and bright clear water

After having been doing some thinking lately, I've decided that I probably can't, and more importantly don't want to be the fastest or best rider out there. The bike I currently own is built for just about one reason only, to go faster than commen sense. I know I've always said, and I still believe it, that ANY bike can be ridden safely and slowly. But, for the riding I think I will enjoy most, owning the R1 is like owning a F1 car for sunday drives. On the R1 I feel that I will always be trying to keep up with, be as good as or "beat" some of the riders I ride with now. I can't, and I can't afford to.

I have been very suddenly, but firmly bitten by the bug of a certain motorcycle, which I shall be test riding shortly. WHITETRASH, and VTWIN, you are SWORN to secrecy, I'd prefer to let all know when I've made up my mind.

The bike I'm looking at is also a 1000cc sports bike, but is designed in my opinion to be a more leisurely ride, with the capability of becoming a beast at the twist of a wrist, however still not intending to a supersport bike like I have now. The "new" bike also sounds the shiznit, and has the "look at me" factor, when at the lights (quote from WT himself!)

So, depending on how the test ride goes, and how I'm feeling, I may have a mint 04R1 for sale, literally as new.

This post was very much starting to sound like the post from the one and only WKid_1.

Right up until the point that you said you were gonna buy a new bike.

    I'll give ya $50 for the R1.

    Slingshot

Nope, I'm not one of "those" cases. I'll ride bikes, as far as I can see it, till the day I die. Hopefully that day will be one and the same, ie: riding my bike.

If only I had the money to buy your R1. It's my dream bike too! (In silver tho, not red).

Will you chuck in the scratched fairing and holed radiator?

I think you're on the right track with getting a different bike if you're not up for the performance of an R1.

The problem with any of the superbikes is that to find the limits, you have to be going verrry fast- shoulda stuck with the 250 eh?

So what are you replacing it with? A STX1300?

    OK...the clues so far:

WT is selling it: Could be a Suzuki, Buell.
Sounds good: Possibly a Suzuki SV1000, not sure what Buells sound like.
Look at me factor: Probably have to be a Buell over the SV1000, but maybe the SV1000S?

My money's on a Buell but not sure what model?

    Am I close?

    paparazzi

Have you been sniffin glue again? Not many people STAY on a 250 after getting their full, unless they have no choice. I'm a big lad, the 250 was under powered. I can handle the R1, the riding style it's designed for is possibly not what will give me the most enjoyment. Don't get me wrong, I'm keeping the :love2:R1 :love2: if I don't like the test ride.

    Oh, "new" bike's engine : Air / oil / fan-cooled, 4-stroke, V-Twin
