    To a riding mate

We gathered here and there and everywhere
We set a place over there
We would arrive and sit and wait
Here came Scotty from over there and late
He would park and chat but we were ready to rap
Off we went with Scotty in close
Free of the fifty K zones in third gear
Fourth and fifth and Scotty would start to drop to the rear
Fifth and sixth and Scott would disappear. Way back there in the rear.
    Sixth and he wasn’t there.
Over Hills up valleys round tops we would blast, here and there.
The shingle roads would appear. That was the end of the road for us. It went way up there.
We didn’t know what was way up there.
Scotty would appear from way back there.
He would shoot right past us, sitting there, and disappear way up there.
We would sit and wait, and he would reappear.
He sat and talked about what was way up there.
On went the leathers and we would head for home, Way back down there.
First and second gear Scotty was there.
Third and fourth and he was still there.
Fifth and sixth and he would drop way back there.
I would park and wait to make sure he would reappear from way back there.
Drop in behind him and stay there.
Home for Tea and we would spread out here and there.
Thanks for the here and there Scotty and telling us about what is way up there.
We are still afraid of the way up there.
You won’t be way back there Scotty, You are with us everywhere.

Just found this looking through some photos. Taken by BusaJim on the Whangamomona ride - think it was June last year. Really catches that cheeky smile.

Beautiful words Gizza... really appreciate everything aye!! I read the poem out to the whole family and it was just smiles all round.

Also, my friend is having some stickers made which will read "RIP Gaybin" (That is his nickname that everyone knew him by, but it will have a Mitsi logo either side, but if you would like one, just let me know by phone or PM. It'll cost only $10.

Cheers everyone... really appreciate all the good photos and nice words!!

GR - I never knew the man so I think it would be inappropriate for my to buy one.

That said - he was obviously one of the family and I'll happily do what I can for the family from afar, be it in cash or kind.

    PM sent.
$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details

I know where that came from buddy........straight from the heart.
For me personally.....he ain't gone.........he just hasn't come back yet. All our rides will be +1 now......we can never ride alone.....he'll still be there......just round the next corner. But we wont wait.....he's riding free now.....forever free

On a brighter note, Emma has come through the op well and things are improving for her by the hour.
I should be all set to do the flag this arvo.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
