Its taken a few days for me to get my head around that fact that Scott is no longer with us. He and everyone else welcomed me to the bay when I needed to escape and took me under their wings. I will always have fond memories of the encouraging words that Scott always had for me when I first learnt to ride. Also the stories of his adventures that he had. But most of all I will always remember that he always had a smile on his face and was there for anyone in need. He had a zest for life and it was blantantly obvious. He made everyone around him, comfortable and he welcomed all strangers.
Carissa and Lani. My heartfelt condolences to you both. He was a great friend and also a great family man. Will be very much missed and as Gixxer 4 ever says "I hope we can ride with you one last time"
To all the Hawkes Bay crowd....a huge hug from me and see you shortly.
I'm finding it hard to find the words to put down.
Scott was one of those rare people who I gelled with almost from the first
moment that I met him. No matter what the situation we ended up in, we were
usually laughing our heads off about it. ( which is quite hard to do when you're
down the bottom of a bank, wondering how you're going to get back up again )
I loved every adventure ride we went on together. They always turned into a hoon
session, with me trying hard to keep up with Scott's uncanny ability to get his
bike sideways round a gravel corner and more often than not, watching him disappear
down the road while I planned which tree to plow into.
Adventure riding is a tricky sport, with the likely hood of coming off quite high.
You always want good mates you can trust to be around you, knowing that they will
be there for you if you stuff up. I always felt completely relaxed when Scott was around
I knew that what ever situation came up, he'd be there with a staunch positive attitude
and a wicked sense of humor. You didn't care what happened, you just got on with the adventure.
People like that are few and far between and leave huge gaps in our lives when they are
no longer with us.
Carissa & Lani, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm aching inside and I just can't imagine what
it must be like for you. Its a small comfort to know that all of us were having a great time,
doing what we love to do and enjoying the experience and camaraderie.
Ride on Scott, you are going to be sorely missed.
Just a few pics of the trip, I hope its appropriate.
And thank you Carissa, and the rest of the family, for the way you welcomed Jim and Kyle into your home and showed them such love and comfort on Saturday.
That you were so concerned that they got home safely, and insisted that they let you know the minute they arrived was truly amazing, given the pain you are going through. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sending them safely on their way and for sharing Scott with us on all those wonderful adventures.
Condolences to the family and friends. RIP.
Why would anyone choose to drive a car!
....feel a bit physically sick hearing this.
Only knew him online and he seemed like such a top bloke.
Not again......KB'er no.6 for me...![]()
You all hang tough until you get used to the grief.
Peace.

Not long ago I posted on the Hub ride that it was the kind of adventure I'd like to go ... it didn't happen ... now I see that I've missed an opportunity to know a very good person. My condolences to the family.
Pampa AKA Pablo
So bloody sad to read.
He would be extremely proud of you for putting this up and being brave about it,god knows how you did.
My first KB ride was doing the Opunake to Hawera leg of the ride 4 life and meeting both you,Scott and Charissa and the support crew, enjoying the break for coffee, causing the ride to be delayed due to coffee break.
The use of a room after a mission concert, before we had met sums both your parents excellent virtues,to all KBers.
From Janine and myself thoughts are with you all what can we say, sorry is a prick of a word, but is about all I can manage.
Hello officer put it on my tab
Don't steal the government hates competition.
Never met him
......never will
My condolences to all - sounded like a top bloke.
“- He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.”
Only met you briefly, nevertheless memorably.
Very sad to see this happen to one with so much life.
My most sincere condolences to all his family. I do not have sufficient words to ease your pain.
My heart also goes out to those who were riding with him, take care on the way back home.

I was in the Hospital waiting to be admited when I read in the Herald about a biker down, who had been collecting corperate sponcership for the Westpac Heli and CC awareness ride,
What can you say no words really help at a time like this, but from what I have read in the paper and on KB he was a hell of a guy and family man.
So my thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends,
R.I.P. Scott
