Just seen on Stuff, pretty heart wrenching:
Edit: Forgot to mention it's the story down the bottom:
    http://www.stuff.co.nz/4600736a10.html
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.

To Scott's family - sincere condolences - Scott was a truly nice guy - passionate about his adventure riding and concerned for others - enjoyed several great rides with Scott - Whangamomona, Makiro Track and Tararua District (last one together earlier this year) - what can we say "..... to cite an Irish blessing:
“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.”

My condolences to Scott's family. We have never met in person, but he was a valued member of the BMWOR forum. He will be missed by all of us.

Just wanted to share a wee story 'bout how me and Gaybin happened to meet...

I was at a party at their house (friends with Lani), (should I mention that I hadn't told my parents of this party and shouldn't have been there?) and walked past the computer to see a rather familiar screen in front of me. Not clicking straight away at what it was, I carried on about my business, until I walked past it again, to see Gaybin (then, Mr McIsaac) looking at Kiwibiker. Exclaimed, I asked, "What are you doing on KB?" The reaply..."How do you know about KB?" Turns out that he had just said to my mother earlier that he would join in on the midweek ride that next week, and that we had had a couple of exchanges on KB beforehand.

Just a funny story to illustrate how we met in real life and how we came to be good friends through KB too. Thanks for the memories mate, always cherished.

And I remember you telling him "Please don't tell my Mum, I'd get in so much s*!t" ... he never did. He was never one to get us youngin's in trouble (And Zac, I fly in Monday night)

Thanks for your thoughts everyone, I really appreciate it and my Mum will too. He was so excited about going on this ride, he could hardly wait to get going! Last thing he said to me was "Next time I talk to you, will be at the airport, can't wait to see you Nani. Love you" He got to see me sooner than that, so have fun on that last final ride Dad, I'm thinking of you lots.

Shocked and sadden by this news.
First met Scott at the Cold Kiwi, and rode a wee way with him and Clarissa on the Ride for Life. Lani, remember being my pillion over the Paekak Hill?
They say only the good go young - and Scott was one of the good ones.
My heartfelt condolences to to you both.

Yeh, he never did but she found out anyway. That was the night with the Kristov Vodka Orange shit...and I blabbed on KB haha!

And Lani, she certainly does. We've all been reading the thread and it's comforting. It's good to read all the good comments from people. It just goes to show how much everybody loves him.
