I have sat down and thought about what to say. I am still at a loss knowing that Scott has gone. However I have enough experience to know it is real. Like most old farts I have been here before but the pain is the same each time. I ask that those of you that know the family keep in touch for a long long time. It is time that makes the pain less, and or change to some degree but it is the loss of friends that drift away that makes the pain linger longer. Take care of the family and love them as much as you can and or did.

Thanks to all the people that made this a very special funeral. Seriously too many to thank. Every one of you should be proud. Some came from a long way to be here and some from close. You are the rock that makes life great. I am tempted to thank people but I realise I will miss people and that’s not fair. Also thanks to the outa towners that shared our space in the last few days. So nice to meet some of you for the first time and to have old friends beside us in this tuff time. You rock you lot.

Enough from me but I would like to say thanks one last time.

Well done from us who couldn't be there.The days after the final event can seem a blur,but as you have said it is the month or years later people stop thinking of the family.

Rest assured next time in the Bay I will be on the lookout for a meet and greet with the guys and girls who make biking a wonderfull event,if somewhat sad at times like this,and to catch up with Carrissa and Lani,only met for several hours but the way they enjoyed the ride for life was an inspiration.

Here are 4 photos of Scott's funeral. Kari and I were humbled to be asked to photograph the day for the family and so the images we took are now theirs. They may post them up when and if they wish. However since there is such interest from those who couldn't be there, I've selected these 4 to give everyone an idea of the scale of the day.

The cortege was huge , this is the lead group, pallbearers in front, the hearse, the bikes, Carissa in the Evo, Lani in the Mirage, Scotts mum I think and then the 4WD with his bike on the trailer. The cortege took six sets of these lights to come past me.

The venue had to be huge, it was the Napier War Memorial Convention Centre . What a stunning place. Serene, calm and beautiful with the whole service overlooking the sea on Napier's Marine Pde.

As far as I can make out there are 360 people in this picture . What you can't see is the people sitting in the annex out to the left up by the windows nor those who had to stand in the corridor out to the right of the windows.

After the celebration of his life with us, the vivd markers came out as Scott looked over the sea .

And this is how we remembered him ... just in case you missed it first time around.

Normally I would not post in a thread about the passing of someone I did not know personally one way or the other - for a number of reasons.

But still, having read what has been written here I'm left with one very persistant thought: "Scott was a very lucky guy!"

Well i guess there is not much more that can be added to what been said.

Carrisa i will shot from my the hip. You know i only meet scott and yourself a couple of times i can remember talking about Holdens & Fords scott i still say holdens are better but we can agree to disagree with that one. Carrisa, Lani what can i say you where amazing your speeches bought more than a tear to my eyes and i know the next few months are going to hard but watching the pair of you and the strength you give each other will help.

You two ladys rock and i know we are a long way away but if there is ever anything we could do for you please don't hesitate to ask.Take care Wendy & Pete Oh and thank you for allowing us to be a part of scott's farewell.

That was a bueatiful tribute, even though i didnt know your dad i couldnt help but feel the passion he had for life and how proud you are of him

Lani - what Meanie said - you and your Mum were amazing at the tribute to your Dad's life.

As a Father I certainly hope I have earned the affection and love of my children that your Dad cleary earned with you! Great that you were able to share so many positive times together especially the Targa eh.
