Thanks everyone... Your kind words and support have been overwhelming. I think you've gained 10+ new members from my family because they just want to read this. He did touch so many people, but I had no idea until this happened...

And to those of you out there that worry about your relationship with your kids, I never deeply (key word) appreciated Dad until I hit 15. It will come in their own time and in their own special way. Don't forget everyone is different, I just had a very open way about it.

Thanks again for all your support, this certainly is part of my family now, so thank you all. See you guys on a ride, somewhere, sometime!

Enjoy! I hope those of you that couldn't make it enjoy this
Thank you for sharing the video. I met Scott and Carrissa and a very young Lani years ago when he had a stint being a fisherman at Ngawi. I was devistated to hear the news of his passing while back in the Wairarapa. May the love and kind thoughts of those around you surround you in the days and weeks to come. May you feel Scotts strength, humor and passion for life and know that he is never far away. RIP Scott

    Cool

Ups to you Lani, that was a great tribute video. Sorry I couldn't make the funeral having booked my holiday long before this but I can assure you I was there in spirit.
    Cheers

We have received Johns Email yesterday and have been shocked to hear from the accident. We feel deeply sorry with Carissa, family and of course all his friends.

When we came to New Zealand we had posted in this forum and this was Scott's reply:

    Welcome

as most of the others have said, we too have a spare bedroom here for as long as you need

I can even show you some of the better places to ride in the Hawkes Bay (Wine Capital and Art Deco Capital of the World )

    Just let me know

Also check out the BMWOR site (BMW Owners Registry)
    http://www.bmwor.org.nz/
There is a forum in there too

    Cheers Scott

And when we came to Napier he picked us from town and we had an awesome time at his house. He did the tour guide and showed us some wonderful roads and places around Napier. We had some fantastic evenings with his family and friends. He was an openhearted and lovely person, we felt like home and we really appreciated his cordial way caring for us.
Bye Scott it was a pleasure to meet you. We will never forget you because you are a part of our world trip....

Glad to see that you got the message, only sorry that it was such a sad one. Are you going to start a thread to update us on where you've been and yet to go?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Sorry to be dredging up this thread but I thought people might like to know about Scotts Dusty Butt article that was published in this months Kiwi Rider.

The only time I've had the pleasures of meeting Scott was the weekend of the Dusty Butt. Scott obviously was inspired by the event as he talked to me a about coming down for the failed 07 run before finally joining us for the 08 run.

The article he wrote is excellent and conveys the feeling of the day very well. It will remind me of Scott and our first successful DB1k forever.

    Cheers R

    Fuck...

I only just found this thread now.. no idea how the hell I missed this.

Zukin, I only met you once, but that time, and everything I ever saw you do or say on KB simply reinforces what others have said, you were a good keen man. Rest In Peace.

Me either. Lias just told me today.

    Scott was a great bloke.

RIP Scott and belated condolences to his family.

I'll raise an ale to him next time I get a chance.
