    I had a licence for 42 years until a ginga came to visit.

    I have had a full licence for sixty years. Back in the 50's we just had to ride up and down the road in frount of a traffic cop and he gave us a licence. Them were the days. Never had a helmet for many years. Army greatcoats and newspaper stuffed under the shirt, to keep out the cold, was our riding gear.

    Only one bike available then would go over 100mph. (160KPH) a Vincent Rapide. I had the first model with rear springing a 1950 AJS. Learnt to ride on a 1937 Harley. If you could handle that everything else was easy.

    I selected option 1, but that will only technically be correct on Monday morning when I walk into AA to get my license back

    I betcha most people here, except us old farts have no idea where that "We don't need no stinking licences (badges)" quote comes from.

    I was riding for about 8 months without , i got a ticket to produce a licence in 7 days on a Sunday and sat for and passed (thank heavens) my licence on the following Thursday and produced it at a diff station on the Friday , Sweet lol.

    I loved the pre computor days lol.

    While I ride totaly leagal ( R lic on a 250cc with WOF & Reg not) I'm the ONLY one in my family who does, Hubby has a 900 r - now on R lic by using my bike, my brother DID ride a 1000cc ducate on no lic, not even a car, notice I said did, in March had a math lesson 60km corner, bike doing 100miles = f@#* bike & broken bones - wrist has healed ok & 2 of the 4 breaks in his collar bone have too ( shoulder looks like a pup tent)

    rode approx 15 years with only learners many different bikes most over 250 rode another 5 years restricted all bikes over 250 only the last 5 years with full i have been very and i mean very lucky only one speeding ticket on a bike approx 20 years ago, have had a few telling offs as well as a couple of tickets for lane splitting (barstards) but i am sure i am not the only one
