Im writing a letter to the police in appeal for a ticket.

I got ticketed for riding a motorcycle >250cc 1 week before I got my full license.

Its common knowledge that its quite possible to get off.

Common Knowledge you can get off?? Tui! - I call bullshit on that.

It was one of 4 tickets I got, all the others I will pay as they were actual offense for riding like a lunatic.

But riding a 400 which has less power than most 250's... $400 ticket is not really that fair.

It was the cop who suggested I ask to get it waived - though he wouldnt let me off to start with as he's got to get his quota

He already had his quota point when he pulled you over - the fact he asked you to write in was probally just to shut you up.

The $400 is fair - because them the rules - you knew it when you went out and chose to take the risk - so HTFU and dont whine about it. "mawwwhahaha its not fair"

Did over 800kms on the weekend and rarely broke the law.

Given your apparent history, I'd take an educated guess that you'd have no chance. You'd need a clean traffic history to have even a sniff in.

Lets face it, the ticketing and fine system is a corrupt way of taking money off us....why do they take money??? If they are really concerned about safety there are so many other ways to make the transgressors sit up and take notice.
I know of people that pay fines with other peoples money.
Hows about making the naughty people pay with their time as in community service stuff? Maybe weed some gardens at the ol' folks home?
