    R1150 gs

Here's m'bird. Bought it off a KB members father. Very pleased I have changed from sportsbike to this. Just waiting for the rain to stop so I can go for a ride.

That colour is known on BMWGS.com as MPY:Monkey Piss Yellow.

Quite a good ride apart from the thick fog and ignorant drivers who refused to pull over and let me and the 20 cars behind me pass, as I left Hastings. Got to the ferry with 10 minutes to spare! Slow going meant I got 320 km from 16 litres with 6 left in the tank. Quite impressed I was.

When I got off the ferry at Picton I nailed it a bit to get as much km's under the belt before the sun set. Result=fuel warning light came on between Kaikoura and Cheviot at 270 km's. The upshot of it all was I filled up in Amberley with 1 litre left in the tank!

Lot of people at work are commenting on the bike. Your dad said it wasn't mint but she's good as gold. Tyres are taking a bit of getting used to, they feel completely different to Bridgestone 014's I can assure you.

A far as the colour goes, to me it's like red for Ducati, green for Kawasaki and orange for KTM; the GS should be Mandarin yellow. No question!

Yeah, she's a different beast all right. Swapping from the Connie to it one day was an experience (and my Connie disappeared!).

Sounds like you enjoyed yourself anyway and are liking the bike - good stuff. The old man will be glad it's gone to a good home.
