I think its a poor attempt on a great bike. Is he just doing this to get rid of an old bike? putting Johns name on it so that it will sell for a higher price.

I don't think you have any idea how much time and work would have gone into that bike.

It would have taken ages to build that, the guy obviously would have done it as a genuine tribute to an amazing bike.

There is no way he would make money off it even if he didn't factor in what would be hundreds of hours labour.

I think it is pretty neat and it is good for someone to spend time and money creating somthing they love and extending their skills as they go.

So what if it says "Brittten" on it? I would be sincerly flattered if anyone ever built a lookalike of a creation of mine!

The guy that built it has done a good job, was he meant to cast his own casings and build his own carbon cantelever front end to make it more authentic? No, cos then it would be a copy, not just a tribute.

It is truely a tribute BECAUSE of the name on the bodywork. That's the inspiration, the reason for doing it.

It's a lot like art I guess, totally open to interpretation. If you interpret it to be a poor knock off, then it's just an opinion, and you're entitled to it. Some of us look and see pain-staking hours spent creating something gorgeous from just another bros.

The fuck it is... that bodywork would have had hundreds of hours in it, it's a bloody fine attempt. IIRC from the last time it was on KB, he had no help from the Britten people, and had to fab it all from photos himself.

For sure. It could be on a GN250 for all I care, I mean, not everyone is blessed with an unlimited budget... but that aside, that is a tota labour of love, he's done really well imho.

I'd love to get hold of a GN to modify. Intercooled turbo and Nitrous injection would be a must. Brutale inspired tank and tail might be interesting. Hhmmmm....

Fairing molds ended up looing pretty sweet & the pipe not bad would have taken me around a day to make that but I would have seam welded it so no join's once cleaned back . Apart from the Flairings & pipe there isn't really alot more that has been done but still more then others have so good on him for following out his project . Shame he isn't going to finish it . Good effort

He had the bike on the back of a ute at the Britten races held in Chch a couple of years ago. Kristeen thought it was great and Andrew Stroud signed it for him, wasnt painted as good as now. What was surprising was the number of people who looked at it and told he was so lucky to have a Britten! Clearly its not nor ever will be, but was unreal how m,any thought it was .....
I always thought he should offer a kit for say, a VTR1000, bodywork and exhaust and paint, paint the front guard and bodypan flouro pink and the bodywork Britten blue, it would be bloody good!
If you had a VTR would you pay say $10K for a kit?
