    CHCH WOF outfits

I've been told straight off the bat by a local agent that because I have non-standard pipes they won't even bother booking me in for a WOF until they have sound measuring equipment up and running.

If anybody has any suggestions on a less anal bike friendly WOF outfit to use around CHCH, please send me a PM.

    Cheers

The place down on Burwood road behind the liquor store seem to warrent just about anything.

Atleast that is the case for me. They didnt pick up on the gaping exhaust leak that I had. Not sure why the other place wouldnt warrent the bike with the leak though. Its not like it was going to kill me, and the muffler didnt have baffles so it wasnt exactly leting out extra noise.

But yea, the guys down on Burwood road have always been kind to me. Couple of the guys there like bikes to.

Yeah, because of course no motorcyclists act like cocks with overly loud exhausts do they?

Johns Road Garage. I think they are an On-The-Go franchise now, but they have the motorway right on their doorstep, and I've never had any probs there! Guess they can't hear if the bike is overly noisy with the Kate Valley trucks going past every 4 mins!!!
Missus: What the f*&k is that???!!!! Where the f*&k do you think that's going??
Me: It's a [insert old broken vehicle here] can't you tell?
Missus: Oh for f*&k's sake... [slams door]
Me: Phew, lucky she didn't see what's on the trailer!

If ya want a WoF, it helps if ya know the inspector, it helps if the inspector is "sympathetic" towards bikers and is a biker himself. Like me for instance....

Sportzone issue WOF's - you'll probably need to book it in. Ring any bike shop. Go to Rolling Thunder - they issue WOF to the stupidly loud Harleys they sell.

I'm presuming your bike is fairly loud - otherwise the inspector would not have commented - aftermarket is fine as long as it is not very loud.

Hmmmm....you have a point, I think most people think that Ducati's & Harley's sound great despite the fact that they are just as loud as boy racer exhausts, has any Duke or HD rider on this site ever got a ticket for a loud pipe? Mind you how many Duke or HD riders rip up and down Bealey Ave at 3 am??? Hope the cops give them (boy racers) more tickets, my mum was in Southern Cross over night and couldn't sleep a wink because of those tossers.

Threw some baffles in and scraped in ever so slightly under the limit. All good now, cheers.
