Taupo region weather warning! (5 July)

Hi Meekey Mouse can you tell us what the taupo napier high way is like we are heading to napier tomorrow.

I rode it yesterday and the road itself is pretty good, a few road works and windy places here and there. It is VERY cold in the hills and on the plains Will send you a PM with my phone number in case you need to stop for a break/coffee or to stay the night

only just got back last night in the b train about 18.00 hours heavy snow 15ks south of Taupo, saw a few hardy bikers heading to Hawkes bay, bloody fine effort..

was okay sou east(towards Naiper) of Tawarea, but shit from there to taupo and even 20 kns north of Taupo on H/way 1 heavy snow in places

Attached is the pxt of Oruanui Road (which is 10 mins North of Taupo) taken on Saturday, you can see the snow falling and the snow in the background on the hill... It was much more impressive in real life! Sorry for the poor quality but it is just a phone
