    The trail side of Adv riding

    OK, just a quick tap for those of us with a preference for dirt...

    Quick 2 hour outing mid day today took me up the back of Onamalutu (North Bank Rd ring a bell?). First time up there but had a ball. Always a hoot when you get yourself into situations you're not sure how you will get out of.

    Long story short, bike set up with road gearing and an MT21 on the back + permafrost and wet clay from a couple of days rain + steep track with no exit on the downhill side = a handfull of attempts to get back up the hill!

    Was mint, had the whole forest to myself apart from a couple of pig hunters. Even chased a couple of trout when I stopped at a creek crossing. Gotta love the Kiwi outdoors!

    Not a lot to see as I only set my phone up after all the wheelies and arseoffs.

    Oh, if anyone knows af a .3gp or .mp4 to mpeg or avi converter let me know so I can cut all the crap out of the second vid.

    Edit: THanks for the link Upshift, edited video is here. Cuts out all the crap. http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=A7Dglmj5nWs

    well done

    What a shit of a hill..

    Its amazing how knackering stuff like that is

    now you know why I always take one of my boys with me

    I've dropped my back tire pressure down to 8-10psi as a desperation measure to get up slippery hills - its makes a massive difference (dual rimlocks though)

    cheers

    Haha, top effort man!
    Damn that looked a fun hill climb.
    "I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

    Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.

    Thumbs up Great video work, riding is good too!

    Hey, thanks for this great view of your efforts. You gave it more of the right wrist the second time. Thanks very much! Cheers.
    When you take thousands of photos of your bike does the light from the flash weaken the plastic?

    homo copyright nazi's

    How's this from Youtube. Bunch of fuckwipes policing some dude with a soundclip! :

    "Your video, DRZ 400 Hillclimb, may have audio content from Magic Carpet Ride by STEPPENWOLF that is owned or licensed by WMG.
    As a result, your video has been muted.
    What should I do?

    Use AudioSwap to replace the audio in your video with a track from our library of prelicensed songs. After you swap, your video will be available globally.

    Under certain circumstances, you may dispute the copyright claim from WMG. These may be any of the following:

    * the content is mistakenly identified and is actually completely your original creation;
    * you believe that your use does not infringe copyright (e.g. it is fair use under US law);
    * you are actually licensed by the owner to use this content."
    There are two kinds of adventurers: those who go truly hoping to find adventure and those who go secretly hoping they won't. We should come home from our adventures having faced their perils and uncertainties, endured their discomfort and beaten the odds, with a sly acknowledgment and revitalised solidarity of character.

    Don't blame Youtube, as the content distributor they get sued by the record company if they allow the music to be played without having being licensed from the record company.

    I had some similar responses but they were reserving the right to bung adverts up when people played it.
