    Moto Guzzi Peoples Opinions Please

There was a 1981 Guzzi V5 with 13000 ks or miles (it said both so probably would go on condition of bike overall and ignore mileage) ,American import, 3 NZ owners. Priced at $3000 but never sold. Described as in really good condition but has problems with starter motor but are getting it checked out and selling with new battery. Photos looked quite good but I know they can be deceiving on the net. The big question I'm wondering is I've always liked Guzzis but have always been to dear for me. Does anyone know much about this model, like any special problems to look for ? As I say just thinking of putting in an offer if it comes back on, might/probably decide its not worth it but thought I see what any of you thought. Cheers

Is it a V50 or V50 II or V50 III or V50 Monza or V50 Monza II and I think you can get a Imola and a Custom?

The Monza's are good and V50 III are as well.
Price well with Guzzi's what every it is worth to you.
What else can you buy for that price.
They are not a rocket ship but do handle well and are fun to ride and a lot of Monza riders love their bike's.
But because of their age and technology are slow by today's standards.

For Three grand I would say if it runs good and is in good nick.
And of course you like riding it with it's power etc.
    A good buy.

I would go out of my way to look at it for that price.
And a spare few grand (Tui's advert) I would think about it.
Good bike for the short, new to riding, around town and dare I say it girls.
Feel the fear and do it anyway

The V50 still remains one of the most fun bikes I have ever ridden, I'm not sure I'd like to do a long trip on one as I remember it being a bit undergeared for sustained open road use, but around a windy road a heap of fun

i love the guzzis, except for the cruisers, id own any really especially if it was cheap to buy and had room to restore.

Plenty of parts available to through motokiwi, may be worth a check with them re the starter motor parts.

Thanks lemans, Looks like the V50 II. Already got a good bike but just wondering if it was a cheap way to get the Guzzi experience. Always had a thing for them since I heard my 1st Le Mans way back in mid 80's. As you say just whether I could justify the dosh (wife would definitely say "no way").

Buy it a present for your wife to ride.
With the new laws coming in a "L" plate ride could ride it.
And I know a guy up here that rides his every where.
And it is a Guzzi and you will get the Guzzi experience.
And though the hills you may scare a few bigger bikes with a bit of work.
