Had to pry the back door open on Mrs Donors car this morning.

Apparently it reached -.7 in Runciman around 0600

Was refreshing, but had to trade the jandles in for gumboots...

Didnt strike any but I was fairly certian it was out there.

Got to be the heavyist frost I have seen in Auckland in the last 6 years I have been here. God it almost reminds me of a Waikato morning back on the farm (only warmer).

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

i hope you guys are ok up there and your fluffy coffees are alright?

you know its a proper frost down here when you have to scrape 5mm of ice off your door handle just to open the car, then when you go try and squirt your windscreen you find out the hose has frozen.

How does that differ from your summers? It's so cold up here in the semi-tropical area we are in that the foam on my double trim, one non-sugar sweetend, organically grown by virgin nuns, decafe latte would hardly even move!

OMG WTF how did you survive that?

Btw - gumboots are probably the second worst footwear for cold and icy conditions, only beaten by the sandal

It's on mornings like this that you notice gaps in your gear! I didn't quite have my neck warmer tucked into my helmet at the front - I think I have frostbite on my chin!

Oh well, time for a nice fluffy coffee to warm up
