    2006 Cagiva Raptor 650

Im considering selling the Katana. I love the bike to bits but I think its time to move on. Its done me very well considering the price I payed for it and the amount of riding and enjoyment it has given me.

Im currently looking at a 2006 Cagiva Raptor 650.

Before I buy though I'm wondering if you guys could share your opinion on the bike.

How does it handle. Is it comfitable for long trips. Are the consumable parts (tyres, sprockets, chains etc) expensive.

Are parts easy to come by, will SV650 engine parts slip right into the Raptor 650 engine (they share the same engine apparently).

    Are they reliable?

    Are luggage racks easily attainable?

What is the fuel economy like?

Tell me your stories, share your experiences with the raptor 650.

PS: Does anyone want to buy an '87 popup Katana in ok condition. Done 101000kms and still going strong (cept for 2nd gear, both the driven and driving gears need replacing) Ive been riding without using 2nd gear for about 6 months. Has 5 months warrent, and 11 months rego left. Have all the paper work for services and work done to it for the last 3 years.

    OT Warning

The real questions are: Have you been playing TmNationsForever online? Are you the Spuds1234 from Gameplanet?
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Yea I saw that, its a 2002 model with 44000k's on the clock and they want 9k for it.

There is one up in Auckland that is brand spanking new with 5 kilometers only on the clock and they want 9.4k for it.

I'd probably go for the one up in Auckland.

I wouldnt mind viewing the one in Christchurch, but having said that I wouldnt feel comfitable giving Alice (I think thats what Dave- said her name was) a call so she can haul out a bike for me to look at that I have no intention of buying from her.

Yea my bad, I didnt notice that. Still I feel that its a lot of k's. Ive owned high K bikes for the last 4 years and Im just over the hassles that old, well loved bikes bring.

I'll put a new rear tyre on the kat and I'll shit all over you. The only reason why you thought you would beat me is cos I ended up just pulling a burnout off the line the other day.

You know you love the General Electric. Just wait until I crack out "Leader Of The Pack" (aka the Pinky bar song for those of you that are old enough to remember the ad) really loudly. The treble will make your ears bleed.

Im pretty much sold on the Raptor 650 that is up in Auckland. Im just waiting for the seller to answer my questions. I'll pop into Don's tomorrow and ask about the L bars for the Ventura pack rack. If he can order some in for me (for an earlier model) to see if they will fit the later model and if hes willing to take them back if they dont fit then the bikes pretty much going to be bought.
