fakn stuck bolt!!

removing suspension linkage for a good ole lube job and I came accross 2 "frozen" bolts.smacking with drift and carpentrers hammer wasnt doing much until I lay it on its side so I could get a better shot at the bolts, removed one but one left. The bolt is the suspention linkage bolt that bolts to frame and linkage.

Ive got it soaked in CRC and tried making a press by laying bike on side next to van, placing ramp under van side sill and over bike and pressing the drift in to stuck bolt. did not budge! was even lifting the side of the van with the leverage!!

what now??

thinking of cutting up bolt to remove linkage and then using a hydrolic press to remove centre or is there another way to remove within cutting anything?

oh yeah bike is 96 CR125

let me know ASAP please otherwist I'll be cutting the bastard and I WILL enjoy it!

What might help --socket on bolt head and big bar on socket--try twisting the bugger to get some movement happpening

I don't suppose you've got a rattle gun/Can borrow one? They seem to be pretty good at loosening stuck bolts.

The needle bearings will be fused to the bolt with rust. Soaking it with CRC and trying to get some movement out of the needles might be the best option at this point until they free up and the bolt can be driven out. Try tapping it in and out, in and out to get a little bit of movement happening with CRC. Its going to take some time to get this bolt out.

Haha - that's what you get for buying a Honda ! Should have stuck with the SV and put some dirt tyres on it

Heat if all else fails - shield or remove rubber/plastics and safeguard agains fire - heat the bolt up and let it cool naturally - if grease was smoking out of it whilst heating - then it should free up when cooled. You will need new seals etc obviously.

Get an impact driver. Really handy for these situations.

Failing that if you get really desperate you can always weld something else onto the offending bolt and then get more leverage onto it.

Another approach if you've rounded it is to use a hacksaw or cold chisel and make a cut into the head of the bolt so that you can use a flat head screw driver on it. Or better still, a flat head with an impact driver.

If that doesn't work you need a bigger hammer

get someone with rattle gun on it while givin it a good hit fron the other side as it turns have done this in the past on cars tends to work.

Did some genius previous owner use thread locker or loctite? That can fark things up. The CRC won't get in there either. Carefully applied heat is good for releasing those ones.
