    Route advice

On Friday morning I am heading from Auckland to Kerikeri. I am planning on going via State highway 16 to Wellsford, then up onto state Highway 12 around Omapere and Opononi. What are these roads like? and does anyone have any suggestions as to other ways I should go? or any different roads I should enjoy on my return trip?

For a good ride take you can either take SH16 to wellsford/or take the Warkworth turn off .
Turn south go to Wayby Valley road(just south of Wellsford on the left)
or on the right just out of the Dome valley coming from WW, follow that to the end turn right take the next left, follow that till the end. Turn right to Mangawai-Waipu.
Go on to SH1 north from Waipu follow that to you get to the Oakley/Paparoa turn off (left hand side), take that to Paparoa turn right and you're on ya way to Dargaville.

Adds quite a few k's but well worth the effort.
