Definatly a car engine - check out the left side drive case,that's covering a bellhousing mount and car clutch/torque converter.Most likely a French engine,they make some small diesel turbo's,or maybe a VW if it's German.

Maybe a puegot (sp?)... they make a good diesel... a mates boss had a 206 or sumfin diesel... farq it went!!!
The sump's got me puzzled alright,that's a lot of work,but then that big left case is some work too.Special cover over the crank nose where the belt pulley goes and a cambelt drive cover - but that sump looks factory,not a pattern someone carved out of a piece of polystyrene.Originally Posted by Blakamin

I'm no linguist but it looks like Dutch to me. Apparently it's a race bike. From the startwin.com pages:
