    The Cheeky B*st*rds!

Caltex is doing a 'Get 0.15c/l off on 0.10c/l off supermarket vouchers' promotion, so as I'm coming up to empty I pull in, thinking I'm onto a good thing here!

NOT EVEN As I'm filling up (nearly full) I notice the price is 0.12c dearer than across the road! WTF????

I'll now be using those 0.10c/l off vouchers at BP where at least I know I will be making 'real' savings!

Thanks for pointing that out - with prices going up like they have been I'm sometimes a bit slow to catch on (leaving myself wide open here .......)

Will be checking next time, for sure!

Buying my groceries at Countdown, I always get 15c off my fuel but just have to make sure I got enough in the tank to make it to the next Gull or Shell One does manage with enough thought...

ohh I think the commerce commission would be really really interested in that .. they prosecute for false advertising .. & for them to raise their prices so they end up remaining the same is against our laws .. give them a call

I noticed those that take vouchers up here tend to charge more. Unfortunately we don't have much of a choice so we meekly keep going there.

There is no such thing as a fu***n motor cycle. I don't care what it takes to fill up my "motorcycle", although I shop at the cheapest s/s at the time so yes we do care about our babies. I hope this was a piss take

Eh.. I have a mate who purely wanted to get a motorbike due to petrol costs. So he thought a CBRR 250 would do nicely. And all he did was commute on the thing.. I feel sorry for it.

Personally, i'm not too bothered about the fuel prices right now.. My 125 has gone from $5 a tank to $6 a tank. And my 250 has gone from $16 to $20 a tank.. not exactly breaking the bank when I see what the cages have to pay.

But yes.. technically the gas station can raise to the prices to match the coupons, as long as there is a saving of some sort (even 2c). Those coupons are just one big scam anyway.. you're either spending more money at the supermarket, or more money at the gas station, either way they win.

Hey I used to work on checkouts at Woolworths and they told us if a customer didn't want the voucher we'd have to cross out the barcode and give it back to the supermarket when we finished our shift!

The savings are generally meagre anyway. Even at $0.04/L you only save $2 on a 50L fill. You might say that adds up but I kinda find it too much trouble to keep track of who discounts what where and when. Besides... the car is for the mrs to worry about. On my 14L tank I would have to be a real miser to look for discount dockets!

Absolutely, but the other day we pull in with 3 bikes to fill, which is often happening in our family atm. Also, when I fill the 4wd, that gets a bit ouchy! I don't bother with the 0.04c/l dockets but do keep the 0.10c/l ones...

I just think that having a huge sign out front saying save up to 0.15c/l on supermarket fuel dockets when their price is considerably higher than the rest, is actually false advertising!

Any rate, I'm not going to stew about it! Just a heads up really for those that do use them.
